OVERVIEW

Those who know Soundiron know that we always like to pull out all the stops when we record any instrument to properly capture it in its full glory. And being the strange fellows that we are, we always experiment a little along the way to see if we can uncover any hidden magic. So we decided to go on a little side-quest while producing our Alpha Organ library featuring the two distinct century-old full-sized pipe organs built into Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in San Francisco. Given this rare opportunity, we wanted to try pulling something a little more unusual from the old mic locker to capture something new in our favorite hall: a stereo pair of high-grade hydrophones. We’re calling our strange result the Aquae Organ.

NKS Standard Works with Kontakt Player 7.5+

We recorded three different organ stop combinations with the Alpha and Omega organs in unison, each intended to highlight a different aspect and distinct tonal quality of the phenomenon. From those source recordings, we then used all of our various sound-design tricks and secrets to develop, bend and warp the sounds from our journey into a variety of pads, atmospheres, synth-like leads and ambient dreamscapes, ranging from lush and harmonic to brittle and discordant, in order to expand this virtual instrument’s creative potential further. We’ve also included 12 wavetables, as well as basic synthesizer sustains and staccatos in a number of distinct waveform shapes to transform the sounds and open up new realms of musical possibility.

The Kontakt interface includes a suite of automation-ready sound-shaping controls to give you total creative flexibility. You have control over swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, pitch (coarse & fine), articulation switching, cross-fading and layering, and so much more.

Sonic possibilities

This library comes with an adaptable LFO system, with selectable LFO shape, modulation target parameter, speed, intensity, tempo-syncing and fade-in time. You can also apply your choice of 12 lowpass, high-pass and FX filters, with assignable modulation targets such as velocity, modwheel, expression, after-touch, key position and step-sequencer table control. Our customizable arpeggiator offers a velocity table and control over arp direction, timing, swing, randomization and duration. We’ve included a key and scale lock system to constrain your notes to common scales and keys for easy melodic composition and live performance.

The interface is rounded-out by our modular FX rack panel, with 27 different DSP effect modules that you can assign in any of 8 available slots, in any order that you wish. You’ll find classic phaser, flanger, delay, distortion, amp and cab simulators, compressors, EQ, rotator and so much more. The Reverb effect includes our favorite convolution reverb impulse responses, including 99 different rooms, halls, chambers and outdoor environments, plus another 40 custom FX impulses to radically transform the sound and open up whole new worlds of musical possibility. We’ve added a great bank of FX rack chain factory presets to get you started!

The Kontakt Player version of this library is NKS encoded for the free Kontakt Player by Native Instruments. It is fully compatible with the NKS Standard software and hardware ecosystem, and VST, VST3, AU, and Pro Tools AAX plugin formats. Version 7.5 or later is required. The samples in this library are losslessly compressed 24 bit 48 kHz NCW files. They can only be played by Kontakt or Kontakt Player.

Kontakt 7.5 requires Windows 10 (or higher), or MacOS 11 (or higher). The free Kontakt Player and full version of Kontakt are both supported by this library. A Multi-Core CPU, 8+ GB System Ram, and SSD hard drive are recommended for this library.
