Didgeridoos is a one-of-a-kind virtual instrument that provides a wide chromatic range of 16 individually tuned didgeridoos that gives users the power to create rhythms and melodies that have never been heard or played before with this instrument, created by William MacGavin and David Zagardo. It features a wide variety of sustaining rhythmic grooves, vowel sounds and beatbox-style staccatos and effect articulations that allow you to play chromatically or rhythmically, with 4 layers and sound design features.

The didgeridoo is an ancient wooden horn originally made and played by the Aboriginal Peoples of Australia, and is an instrument traditionally used for ceremonies and festivities. This virtual instrument was crafted with great respect for the Aboriginal Peoples of Australia, their culture, and their values. It is not intended to be used in a traditional context and has been designed to provide creative tools and new sonic possibilities for composers and musicians everywhere to explore. It is not intended to represent or replace the authentic realism, cultural importance and soul of traditional aboriginal musicianship and spiritual traditions.

Our interface for Kontakt offers a full suite of intuitive sound-shaping controls and professional features to give you complete artistic freedom. You can easily blend and customize sounds to create your own unique instruments with 4 independent sonic layers. Dial in every detail with a full range of deeply customizable options, or leave it stock and start playing right out of the box!

This library includes a flexible LFO system with tempo sync, assignable shapes and control targets, and a selection of 12 modulatable filter types for shaping motion and tone. Each layer has its own filter, LFO, and ARP systems. The flexible arpeggiator module includes a variety of directions and patterns, and built-in key and scale lock options make it easy to get in the flow and stay in key.

The Legato Design panel allows you to select between legato and portamento modes, with an intuitive click-and-drag interface to control interval transition speed.

Our interface for Kontakt is rounded-out by our modular FX rack panel, with 18 different DSP effect modules that you can assign in any of the 10 available slots, in any order that you wish.

The Kontakt interface includes a suite of automation-ready sound-shaping controls to give you total creative flexibility. You have control over swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, pitch (coarse & fine), articulation switching, cross-fading and layering, and so much more. We've also included 20 unique sound-designed custom FX presets to give you lots of creative options.

Sonic possibilities

This library comes with an adaptable LFO system, with selectable LFO shape, modulation target parameter, speed, intensity, tempo-syncing and fade-in time. You can also apply your choice of 12 lowpass, high-pass and FX filters, with assignable modulation targets such as velocity, modwheel, expression, after-touch, key position and step-sequencer table control. Our customizable arpeggiator offers a velocity table and control over arp direction, timing, swing, randomization and duration. We’ve included a key and scale lock system to constrain your notes to common scales and keys for easy melodic composition and live performance.

The interface is rounded-out by our modular FX rack panel, with 18 different DSP effect modules that you can assign in any of 10 available slots, in any order that you wish. You’ll find classic phaser, flanger, delay, distortion, amp and cab simulators, compressors, EQ, rotator and so much more. The Reverb effect includes our favorite convolution reverb impulse responses, including 99 different rooms, halls, chambers and outdoor environments, plus another 40 custom FX impulses to radically transform the sound and open up whole new worlds of musical possibility. We’ve added a great bank of FX rack chain factory presets to get you started!

Artist

Will Macgavin has been playing the didgeridoo for nearly 2 decades as a soloist and with rock, jazz, and bluegrass bands, orchestral music, and much more. Will has developed a contemporary playing style to explore didgeridoo in a modern context, blending beatbox and traditional brass techniques. MacGavin Woodworks designs acoustically unique didgeridoos and crafts them from ethically sourced timbers.

Will Macgavin

David Zagardo is a data scientist, composer and recording engineer, specializing in music composition and post production sound for films, games, musicians, podcasts, and more. After collaborating together on a recording project, they teamed up to record these instruments at David's studio, to capture the dynamic range of each instrument in a dry studio environment, with attention to every detail to get maximum clarity.

The Kontakt Player version of this library is NKS encoded for the free Kontakt Player by Native Instruments. It is fully compatible with the NKS Standard software and hardware ecosystem, and VST, VST3, AU, and Pro Tools AAX plugin formats. Version 6.6 or later is required. The samples in this library are losslessly compressed 24 bit 48 kHz NCW files. They can only be played by Kontakt or Kontakt Player.
